Is there any interest?

I have to admit, I haven't been a major fan of Weezer since Make Believe, but a two-night city tour playing the Blue album one night and Pinkerton the next? Yes, I would go=)

Who's with me?

Who you callin' dummy, dummy?

Well, Tom, I spoke too soon in my last comment=P But here goes...again.

I guess the first thing I should give an update on is the new job I started back at the end of July after leaving the magazine. I'm now an editorial assistant in the Consumer Dummies (aka "For Dummies" books) department at Wiley Publishing. Who's ready for Sewing For Dummies, 3rd Edition?

Other fun and exciting stuff that's been going? My good friend, Kim, got married last month. It was such a lovely, fun wedding near Schererville.

Here's the happy couple:

For more photos, you can check out Forget Me Knot Weddings or Ashley Rose's blog.

I also went to my first roller derby bout last weekend with one my besties, Christina. We got to see the Circle City Socialites in action against the Jack Town Rollers and Fox Cityz Foxz Scream Puffs. Those ladies are tough! As much as I'd like to think I could be part of a roller derby team, the constant getting knocked down and elbowed out of the way makes me think I'm better off as a spectator or, at most, a team volunteer. Though I do think Christina could handle it, and be awesome, too=)

This weekend I got to see the bf, which was nice. Friday night we went out to Egg Roll No. 1 on the south side of Indy, then Saturday morning he raced in the Indy Crit. We also got to hang out with some other friends Saturday afternoon for a cookout/get-together on the east side of town. It's interesting getting older and seeing certain friends grow up a lot since the last time you saw them. In particular, the friend who hosted the cookout is now engaged, has been a homeowner for the past three years and isn't quite the drunken, a-hole-ish fellow he was back in his college years=P

Anyhow, it's almost midnight, so time to hit the hay!

back to bloggin'

Not sure if it's a permanent decision, but I thought I'd start writing on here again. It's been more than a year since last time I posted something (May 6, 2009). Maybe, eventually I'll move all of this over to my own website.

The past year has been full of a lot of things, but my memory fails me at the moment everything that happened. So to recap the most recent things:
  • I've been interning at Indianapolis Monthly magazine since January, which has been a great learning experience and fun at the same time. I'll be at the magazine until the end of May, then trying to find full-time employment like so many others.
  • I finished at Purdue (again) last weekend. Now I've got professional writing under my belt!
  • I ran/walked the Indy 500 Mini-Marathon. I didn't meet the goal I had wanted to, but I've decided I'll sign up for the Indy Monumental Half-Marathon again. This time, the plan is to actually, really properly train so that my goal is achievable. What an idea, huh?
  • Oh, and I moved to Indy in March and live a block away from the Indianapolis Museum of Art with my good friend, Emily.
Other things -- I finally got around to watching "The Girl in the Cafe," which I really liked and makes me appreciate Bill Nighy even more. And, I bought She & Him "Volume Two" today. I've got the first two songs, "Thieves" (love the strings arrangement) and "In the Sun," on repeat . I'll make it to the others later this week...
